Hattrick.org (since 1997) is the original free web-based online multiplayer strategy football management game where users create a club with custom teams that can be used to compete with other users all over the globe.

Hattrick's name comes from a football word "hat-trick" or "hat trick" which means a consecutive 3 goals in one game using the head, right foot and left foot.
Hattrick.org was created by Bjorn Holmer and hattrick became a popular community-driven project. Hattrick is owned by Hattrick Ltd., managed by Johan Gustafson and developed by Extralives AB.
Hattrick won Multiplayer Online Game Directory's "Game of the Month" in October 2002, April 2004 and November 2006.
Hattrick supports the offline event Homeless World Cup initiative through advertisement on the website and financial donations.
In May 2006, Hattrick recorded the largest football survey in history with more than 197,000 members gave their opinions about the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
